How do I resolve the error "Invalid license number for this software" that occurs during activation of a TI-Nspire or TI-SmartView Software?
The error, "Invalid license number for this software", indicates that the license number entered is either incorrect or is for a different software. License numbers for TI-Nspire Family Software or TI-SmartView Family software must meet the following rules: 1) The license must be entered correctly as listed on your license card or email; please double check the license matches exactly.
Please Note: If you are copying the license from an email you can highlight your license key and press [Ctrl]+[C] to copy the license then highlight the first box of the license entry field and press [Ctrl]+[V] to paste the license, if you are using a Mac computer using the [Command] key instead of [Ctrl]:
2) The license number must match the product being activated. For Example: A license for TI-Nspire Student Software will only activate TI-Nspire Student Software, and will not activate TI-Nspire Teacher Software or TI-Nspire CAS Student Software. 3) The license number must match one of the following license types: Single or Volume, to verify what license you have please refer to the chart at the bottom of the kbase.
Please Note: If your license types are Concurrent or School-Managed you cannot activate the software directly with this license type you instead use the TI-Admin software to activate the license service.
Additional Note: If you have a Home Use license and are attempting to activate the TI-Nspire CX Family Software please contact TI-Cares for additional assistance. For TI-Admin Software:
