How do I create groups with the TI Connect Software in Windows®?

In the TI Connect software, users can create TI Connect group files containing one or more related device files. The device files can come from any TI file type.  The instructions below describe how to create group files.

To create a group file from the TI DeviceExplorer:

• Connect the calculator to the PC using a compatible TI Connectivity Cable
• Open up the TI Connect software
• On the TI Connect home screen, click TI DeviceExplorer
• Click a file to select it, or hold Ctrl to select multiple files
• Click File > Create Group
• Choose a save-to location and type in a file name for the new group file, then click Save

To create a group file from the Explore My TI Data window:

• Connect the calculator to the PC using a compatible TI Connectivity Cable
• Open up the TI Connect software
• On the TI Connect home screen, click Explore My TI Data - The Windows Explorer window opens
• Click File > New > TI Group - a group file named "New TI Group.tig" will appear in the window
• Drag or copy the device files to be put in the group to the group file
• (Optional) Rename the group file

Creating a group file from the Explore My TI Data window or from the TI DeviceExplorer will create the TI Group File (*.tig extension in Windows).

NOTE:  It's a good idea to adhere to the file naming rules for the type of device connected to the PC.

NOTE: These steps apply to the Original TI Connect™ Software, using the following calculators models:
